This match-three puzzler takes full advantage of the PS Vita's hardware, including its front- and rear-facing touch panels and its accelerometer. In fact, according to a press release sent out by the game's publisher, Treasures of Montezuma Blitz is the world's first - not including MMOs - console game to be offered completely free of charge with "freemium options".

Overall, I would say give this game a shot.A little later than expected, the PS Vita's very first free-to-play title, Treasures of Montezuma Blitz, is available to download from the PlayStation Store. For example, you are rewarded a silver trophy for playing the game 100 hours. The only things that I don't like about the game is that it can be hard to know when you are in kicker mode and some of the trophies are ridiculous. The game uses a level up system which gives you unlocks and rewards This gives the game an addictive quality which is excellent. It also adds new game play elements to the original ToM which makes the game fun for people who have ToM experience in the past. Treasures of Montezuma Blitz makes great use of the Vita's rear touch pad, which is something you don't see very often in Vita games. Also, you don't have to pay for crystals you get them easily enough. The heart system (commonly known as energy in other freemiums) replenishes quickly. As far as freemium games go, the business model of this game is fair.
